This policy covers the Android app UK Citizenship Test 2026 (package com.ukcitizenshiptest.app), available on Google Play. It is written to be read in full in a few minutes, because there is little to say: the app does not ask you to create an account, does not contain advertising, and does not include analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software. The only data that leaves your device is what is needed to process an optional one-time purchase through Google Play.

This page is linked inside the app under Settings → About → Privacy policy. The Terms of Use are linked next to it (Settings → About → Terms of use), and Settings → About → Contact support opens an e-mail to us.

2. Information stored on your device

The app keeps the following on your phone only, in the app's private storage (a local Room database and DataStore preferences):

  • Study progress: which lessons you marked complete, every practice session, chapter quiz and mock test you took, your answers and scores, and the readiness score and weak-area analysis computed from them.
  • Settings: theme, text size, read-aloud speed, instant-feedback preference, daily reminder time, and whether onboarding was completed.
  • Purchase status: a yes/no flag remembering whether Premium is unlocked, so Premium works offline.
  • Free-tier counters: your daily practice-question count and how many of your lifetime free mock tests you have used.
  • Daily study reminder (if you turn it on): the reminder time you chose, used only to schedule a local, on-device notification.

We cannot see any of this. It is deleted when you uninstall the app. Settings → Reset all progress clears your answers, quiz and mock-test scores, and mock history, along with lesson progress and preferences, on the device; it does not affect your Premium unlock, which is kept by Google Play, and it does not restore your free-tier mock-test allowance.

Android's built-in device backup (Google's "Backup by Google One" / Android Auto Backup) may include this app's data in your own Google Drive backup if you have device backup turned on; that backup belongs to your Google account, is encrypted by Google, and is governed by Google's privacy policy. It is controlled by your device settings, not by the app.

3. Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat)

The app is free with an optional one-time in-app purchase ("Premium unlock"). Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your payment card, billing address or Google account name. Google's handling of your purchase is described in the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

To know whether your purchase is valid on this device, to show the correct Premium price, and to restore your purchase on a new device, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), a purchase-management service acting as our billing service provider. Every time the app starts — not only when you buy or restore — the following is sent to RevenueCat:

  • a random, anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device by the RevenueCat SDK (it is not tied to your name, email, or Google account, is different on every fresh install, and we do not link it to anything);
  • the Google Play purchase token and product id (lifetime_premium) for the unlock, so the purchase can be verified with Google and your entitlement status fetched;
  • basic device information the SDK sends with every request: device model, Android version, app version, locale and time zone, and your IP address as part of the network connection.

RevenueCat uses this only to verify the purchase, fetch the Premium price in your local currency, and remember that the unlock belongs to that identifier. RevenueCat acts as our service provider and does not sell this data or use it for advertising. Its privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

"Restore purchase" asks Google Play for purchases already owned by the Google account signed in on the device and re-applies the unlock. No additional data is collected. No purchase or device data is shared with anyone else.

4. Notifications

If you turn on the optional daily study reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your phone using Android's WorkManager. No notification service or server is involved; nothing about the reminder is sent anywhere. On Android 13 and later, showing the reminder requires the notification permission, which the app asks for only when you enable the reminder and which you can revoke at any time in your device's system settings.

5. Text-to-speech

Read-aloud and glossary pronunciation features use the Android text-to-speech engine already installed on your phone, running on-device. The text spoken is the question, lesson or glossary term; no audio or text is sent to us or to any server as part of this feature. The app has no microphone permission and never records audio.

6. Permissions

PermissionWhy

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEShow the offline banner and avoid failed requests when offline
POST_NOTIFICATIONSOptional daily reminder (asked only when you enable it)
com.android.vending.BILLINGGoogle Play in-app purchase

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.

7. Children

The app is intended for adults preparing for the Life in the UK Test and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing for a parent to request, but you can contact us at muhammadsuleman30000@gmail.com with any concern.

8. Your choices and data deletion

  • Delete everything on the device: uninstall the app, or use Settings → Reset all progress to erase study progress and history while keeping the app installed.
  • Purchase records: Google Play keeps the record of your purchase under your Google account (see Google Play's help on order history). To ask RevenueCat to delete the anonymous identifier and purchase record associated with your device, email muhammadsuleman30000@gmail.com; because the identifier is anonymous we cannot find it by your name, so include the Google Play order number from your purchase receipt (it starts with GPA.). Deleting it may make the unlock unrestorable through the app; your Google Play purchase record itself is governed by Google.
  • Reminders: turn off in Settings or revoke the notification permission in Android settings.

9. Your rights

United Kingdom (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw consent, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Because the app holds no personal information about you, most requests will be answered by confirming that fact; RevenueCat deletion requests are handled as described in section 8.

European Economic Area (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing the purchase-related data in section 3 is performance of a contract (delivering the Premium unlock you asked for) and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Data sent to RevenueCat is processed in the United States under safeguards maintained by RevenueCat.

California (CCPA / CPRA). We do not sell or share (as defined by the CCPA) personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You may request to know or delete the limited data described in section 3 by contacting us; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Elsewhere. Where local law gives you additional rights, contact us at muhammadsuleman30000@gmail.com and we will honour them to the extent the law requires.

10. Security

Data between the app and Google Play or RevenueCat is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Data on your device is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read on an unmodified phone.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app starts collecting anything new, this policy will be updated and the effective date changed. Material changes will be mentioned in the app's release notes on Google Play.
